The 19th Builders’ Merchants awards has, sadly, become one of the many events across the merchant sector to be delayed due to COVID-19 and will now take place on Friday 14 May 2021, at The Park Plaza on Westminster Bridge.
Anyone who is considering a nomination now has extra time to do so, as the entry deadline has now been extended to Friday 20th November.
As well as the traditional categories looking for the best examples of Merchanting this year we also have two new award categories to reflect our changing industry - Diversity and Inclusion in Merchanting and the Sustainable and Environmental Initiative of the year.
Many of you are working in different ways and for companies that have implemented new working practices to help cope with Coronavirus, and this could be reflected in your entry for the awards.
Has your employer helped its community battle the disease? Do you know a branch manager who has gone above and beyond to ensure customers still get products during the crisis? Did your merchant show initiative when it came to its digital and website offering to customers as face-to-face contact was reduced?
I appreciate that everybody is extremely busy during these unprecedented times, but please submit your entries early and remember each entry must be a maximum of 850 words.
It is amazing to come together as an industry and celebrate the innovation and hard work from those across the sector, and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on 14th May 2021.
Let us hope that the Coronavirus is all over and we can enjoy a huge party to celebrate getting through it.
If you have any questions about your entry, the nomination process, booking a table or any other element of the Builders' Merchants awards, please get in touch.
