Ian Haldane

Ian Haldane is Executive Chairman of the Haldane Group – a leading supplier to the construction industry in the UK and Ireland comprising of builders and plumbers merchants, specialist timber importers and bathroom showrooms serving both trade customers and the public.

With over 40 years’ experience in the industry, Ian along with his family successfully developed the business throughout Ireland, the Isle of Man and England, growing the business from three branches to 22 in 2024.

Under Ian’s leadership, the business has established and enhanced online trading platforms, adopted new technologies and undertaken the development of key policies around branch management, sales coordination and customer service to target continued growth.

As well as leading the business as Managing Director for 32 years, Ian was elected as Board Member of the Builders Merchants Federation, serving two-three year terms.

In 2023, Ian received the BMF Honorary Achievement Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Builders Merchants Awards.
